From what I remember I think this took place as if they were in a high school building that was rumored to be bombed. In the middle of the play is when the white girl from the rich college came to the school to go protest alongside the rest of the protesters. Also this was the part where the white girl and henry met and got to know one another a little more than protest partners. Then the drunk guy tried to convince the school girl that she should leave Henry alone and be with him. Hen ry ended up fighting the drunk because he had harassed the girl because she did not want to kiss him. The school girl started to follow Henry everywhere he went after that, she fell in love. Then one night Henry and the school girl go to a park or outside and the K.K.K. showed up out of the blue scaring the both of them away. A couple of scenes later Henry left to go down to Mississippi unannounced before the whole group was going to go down to protest. In determining a topic for my research paper I began to think about what struggles I faced as an eighth grade teacher. I currently teach general education, an integrated co-teaching (ICT) class, and an ESL class in a widely culturally diverse school in Queens. In the last two years I also taught honors classes. I notice that the biggest challenge facing students from all my classes was reading comprehension. It was evident very early on in my teaching career that many struggling students who can technically read quite well don’t understand what they are reading. Ironically, this vast number of junk eaters is not aware of the health-wrecking decision they take when they stop by McDonald’s for lunch one day after another; or is that not the case? Are people really unaware of how a single mouthful of fast food contains a handful of chemicals that can literally deteriorate their health? Although the majority of people blame fast food companies, which are initially set up as profit-seeking businesses, for their poor health, it is actually their irresponsibility and lack of determination they should be pointing their fingers at. The first thing to remind yourself of every now and then, is that fast food companies are organizations that only aim to maximize profits. Therefore, to expect them to play the motherly figure, and hand us a healthy meal served with love and care is irrational. Call it selfishness, but their owners have set monetary goals, not humanitarian ones. Now, how often do people sue real estate companies for selling accommodations with faulty sewage systems? Or file lawsuits against Ford for manufacturing cars that are not fuel-efficient and are likely to consistently empty your pockets? The reason examples like these are far-fetched is because people are aware that these choices are likely to yield an outcome, and therefore, they carefully study their payoffs. They think prudently before buying a. .l do it for you. As Malek (2003) puts it, â€Å"Every time you buy cigarettes or unhealthy food, and every time you do not buy food that’s good for you, you are weighing your own costs and benefits† (p. 310). After all, it is in nobody’s hands but yours to stay healthy and look fit.
